Pharmacy Technician Department

The Pharmacy Technician Department at the Benue State College of Health Technology, Agasha, is dedicated to training competent and skilled pharmacy technicians. Our program emphasizes both theoretical and practical knowledge, equipping graduates with the skills to effectively assist registered pharmacists in providing quality pharmaceutical care to the community. We strive to produce graduates who are competent, ethical, and committed to improving patient outcomes.

Overview

The Pharmacy Technician Training Program (PTTP) aims to train individuals to assist registered pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical services at the grassroots level. This aligns with the mission of the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) to regulate and control pharmaceutical practice.

Objectives

1. To train suitable qualified persons in the basic knowledge of handling simple medication for use at grass-root level under the supervision of registered pharmacist. 2. To train suitable persons to the level of rendering effective assistance to registered pharmacist in both public and private hospitals and clinics.

Programmes

Pharmacy Technician

A three-year program comprising classroom instruction, practical training in hospitals and community pharmacies, and laboratory work.

Admission Requirements

Pharmacy Technician: Five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in not more than two sittings in GCE, WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB.
